  • Student Submissions: Submitted work, grades, and rubric scores
  • Rosters: Student names and email addresses (for teachers)
  • Grades: Assignment grades and feedback

Why we need this data: This data is essential for Classfinity to function. We use it to:

  • Display your classes and assignments
  • Show grades and feedback to students
  • Enable teachers to review student work and provide additional feedback
  • Allow students to write reflections on their work
  • Track progress over time

2.3 User-Generated Content

We store content you create through the Service:

  • Student self-reflections and self-assessments
  • Teacher feedback and comments
  • Class and assignment selections

  • OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens (stored securely for API access)

4. Google API Services User Data Policy

Classfinity's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Limited Use Disclosure: The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google's Limited Use requirements. We only use Google Classroom data to:

  • Provide or improve user-facing features that are prominent in the requesting application's user interface
  • Ensure security and prevent fraud and abuse
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations

We do not transfer Google Classroom data to third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using:

  • Firebase Authentication: For secure user authentication
  • Cloud Firestore: For storing user data, reflections, and feedback
  • Encrypted connections: All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Secure cookies: Session data is stored in httpOnly, secure cookies

While we implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to protecting your data.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as:

  • Your account is active
  • Necessary to provide the Service
  • Required by law or educational institution policies

When you delete your account or revoke access, we will delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we are required to retain it for legal or educational purposes.

Educational institutions using Classfinity are responsible for obtaining necessary consents from students and parents as required by applicable laws and school policies.

9. Third-Party Services

Classfinity integrates with:

  • Google Classroom API: For accessing educational data
  • Firebase: For authentication and data storage
